The Dean of Students Office serves as a central hub for student support, advocacy, and holistic success at Clayton State University. The office promotes student well-being, belonging, accountability, and persistence by connecting students to resources that support their academic and personal journey.
Services include student advocacy, crisis response and case management, behavioral intervention and threat assessment response, extended absence support, admissions background review oversight, and guidance related to student complaint and grievance procedures. The office also assists students in navigating personal, academic, and institutional challenges that may impact their academic experience and overall success.
The Dean of Students Office oversees several student support and care-focused areas, including the Care Center, Disability Services, the Community, Belonging, and Veterans Center, and student case management and first-generation student initiatives. Through these efforts, the office works collaboratively with campus partners to foster a supportive, accessible, and student-centered environment.
In alignment with institutional and state expectations, the Dean of Students Office may coordinate institutional transfer background reviews as well as FBI and Bar Association screenings for students participating in select academic programs, licensure pathways, internships, clinical experiences, or professional placements. The office may also assist students with related coordination, documentation support, and navigation of institutional processes when applicable.
